'Tis the Season... |

Excerpted from Arizona Gourmet Living And speaking of Rose, so many good, dry Roses are available now that folks have stopped associating them with the jug wines of the 1970s. Winemakers are getting very creative using wonderful red grapes such as Syrah, Pinot Noir, and Cabernet. Roses are fairly reasonable in price with good availability. Rose should have a place on every holiday dinner table, but in the quiet time before anyone arrives, be sure to have a spare bottle for you! Mac McDonald, Vision Cellars' owner and winemaker, makes a good dry, fruity Rose using Syrah and Grenache. Mac is one of the few African-Americans among California winery owners/winemakers. He also makes a good Sauvignon Blanc/Pinot Gris blend and his Pinot Noirs win countless awards.
